MiABLE PRESENTATION

MiABLE Program Director Scott de Varona will lead an informational session from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority’s A&W Professional Development & Business Center, 1 Germania Platz, in Saginaw. The presentation is open to the public and designed to answer any questions about MiABLE eligibility, spending funds and details on opening an account.

The goal of MiABLE’s “I Will Never Lose” campaign is to reach out to disabled individuals and their families who haven’t yet taken advantage of the program, created to help people with disabilities save for current and future expenses without jeopardizing eligibility for government benefits.

Approximately 300,000 Michigan residents with disabilities are eligible for MiABLE, including 28,000 in the Great Lakes Bay Region and Thumb. Yet largely because of a lack of awareness, less than 1% of those who qualify are currently enrolled.
